Hi, I'm Jack! I'm a Scottish Photographer, passionate about capturing unique images with my own signature style! I began my venture into photography in 2014 when I was in awe of my Dad's old DSLR. By August of that year, I was trusted to photograph my Dad's Wedding! Although it was really in 2018, when I bought my own first proper camera, that I started to really take photography seriously.

Originally I had started to get into photography and video for my own musical aspirations. I studied Music Performance at The Academy Of Music And Sound in Glasgow and play guitar, bass and sing. I still play in bands today and produce music! By the end of my HND in July 2020 I realised that I actually really wanted to pursue photography for a living instead of music.

​

For this reason, I began to cut my teeth as a Gig Photographer, working in difficult lighting scenarios and with a very limited amount of time to get the shot. Many of my friends are musicians and offered to let me shoot their gigs for experience. These quickly became paid gigs, especially as I upgraded my skills with each new experience and successful idea. Fast forward a couple of years and here we are!

I've had my fair share of experience in the music industry, having experience or knowledge in the most of the runnings of the industry. Some of my most notable clients include; DF Concerts & Events, The OVO Hydro, Nordoff & Robbins, Ticketmaster and Warner Music Group. My photos have been published in The Guardian, and The BBC. Some of the most notable acts I've photographed include; Billie Eilish, Sleep Token, YungBlud, Biffy Clyro, Architects, My Chemical Romance, Nathan Evans, and Cammy Barnes.

My work can be defined by my use of strong, glowy highlights, halation, filmic textures and a particular eye for enhancing the emotional and artistic impact of both my photography and videography. I also love more experimental textures in my photos and often experiment with slow shutters and intentional motion blur. I find taking photos of people to be the most enjoyable form of photography.
